About Course
Department of Biomedical Engineering and Public Health offers Certificate course on Dermatology & Venereology and is designed to offer an understanding of the subject with an aim to grasp the importance of Dermatology and Venereology in modern medicine, take appropriate history from the patients, perform relevant clinical examination and diagnose and manage the most common skin and venereal diseases prevalent in Bangladesh.
Course Duration : 3 Months
Credit Points : 8 credits
Admission time : Admission is open in the Month of March, June, September and December
Admission Requirements: Must be MBBS or MD.
Course Session : The will be four sessions in a year.
Winter session From 1st January to 30th March
Spring Session From 1st April to 30th June
Summer From 1st July to 30th September
Fall Session From 1st October to 30st December

Unit 2 (Week) HAIR Structure & Function Normal Hair Growth Hair Problems Dandruff/ Hair Fall/ Alopecia /Hirsutism/ Hypertrichosis/ Folliculitis
Unit 3 (Week 3) ACNE Medical management Use of lasers Treatments of Acne scaring
Unit 4 (Week 4) Skin ulcers, pressure sores & wound care
Unit 5 (Week 5) Pruritus, Urticaria & Drug Eruption
Unit 6 (Week 6) Viral skin infection
Unit 7 (Week 7) Sexual Transmitted Infection (STI )
Unit 8 (Week 8) Geriatric Nutrition and Exercise Scabies & Pediculosis
Unit 9 (Week 9) Psoriasis, Common Fungal infections, Exzema & realated Dermatitis
Unit 10 (Week 10) Common Bacterial infection
(Week 11) Review Class
(Week 12) Final Exam
Hospital Visit: Arranged during hospital office time (both supervised and unsupervised)
